This fifteen page ebook was carefully researched on the Florida visit of Grover Cleveland in 1888. In addition to researching historic newspapers of the times, Library of Congress archives
at FSU and private collections were used with permissions. This book captures the mood of the country with this Gilded Age President who visited the South and got the taste of their hospitality.
Over 20 images were used, with many that are rare pictures from private collections, archival artifacts of documents and even original artwork. The story starts with President Cleveland and his young wife Frances Folson Cleveland leaving Washington DC by train to Charleston SC, then onto Savannah Georgia where they are given a salute by Chatham's artillery, to Jacksonville Florida where they attend the Sub-Tropical Expo, to the Ancient City of St Augustine where they are met by Henry Flagler, to Plataka then to Titusville where they board a steamboat for a trip to Cocoa and then finally to Winter Park Florida for rest and a pleasant diversion at Seminole Hotel. There is fanfare, patriotism and humor all along the way.
